WLAN Bandwidth to Quadruple in Japan
December 15, 2006
In compliance with suggestions from the Radio Regulatory Council, Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications is set to broaden the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks) frequency bandwidth in January, 2007, Jiji Press reported. Frequency bands from 5.470 to 5.752 gigahertz will be added to existing ones, quadrupling the bandwidth available to users without a license in Japan.
